Dance of Awareness

Due to the pandemic and a recent house move I am not currently running Dance of Awareness sessions, but I hope to start a class in Woking soon.

Dance of Awareness is a conscious dance and movement practice based on developmental psychology. It can help increase self-awareness while encouraging you to make friends with your body, let go of limiting patterns from the past, and to find the confidence to express yourself more freely. It offers a profound exploration of what it is to be in a body and to connect deeply with yourself and others. Dance of Awareness incorporates several strands including character styles, authentic movement, five rhythms and mindfulness practice. There are no steps to learn, no judgment and no expectations.

The Dance of Awareness cycle (sensing, grounding, expressing, releasing, connecting and completing) allows us to revisit our early body history, to celebrate the embodied patterns that make us unique, and to discover new ways of being who we are. As we move and breathe together we open more fully into self-awareness and a wider consciousness of our place in the world.

Regular Classes

I am hoping to start classes in Woking soon. If you would like to be told when these begin, contact me and I will add you to my mailing list.

Bring a bottle of water and wear something comfortable, bearing in mind we will be lying on the floor for part of the session. If it’s your first time please check with me that the class you want to attend is running, as occasionally they may happen on different days of the month to those advertised.
